Grayscale Launches New AI Crypto Industry Sector, including TAO, NEAR, RENDER

On May 28th, Grayscale announced the commencement of the AI Cryptocurrency Industry Sector. AI will transform into the sixth industry sector and will encompass tokens that were formerly categorized under other market sectors. All other index criteria will persist without alteration. The newly established Artificial Intelligence sector encompasses 20 assets with a combined circulating market capitalization of approximately $20 billion. At this magnitude, the AI Cryptocurrency sector is the smallest segment market, accounting for roughly 0.67% of the total market capitalization. In contrast, the Financial sector is the third-largest sector with a market cap of around $519 billion. Grayscale deems that the relatively small size of this cryptocurrency sector indicates that many projects are still in their early stages.
