World Ordered to Delete Over 1.2 Million Iris Scan Data Collected in Thailand

The Thai Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Chaichanok Chidchob, stated that on Monday, the Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) also ordered the company to suspend all its operations in Thailand. In Thailand, an expert panel appointed to examine whether World violated the country's data protection law has reached the conclusion that collecting biometric data in exchange for cryptocurrency constitutes illegal behavior. As a result, World has stopped its iris scanning operations in Thailand.
