Quid Pro Quo: Regarding the French Employee Incident, the safety of the individuals involved and their families is being ensured, and we are cooperating with law enforcement in the investigation

On February 13, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said in a post that in response to recent reports about a French employee, the individual and their family are currently safe and actively cooperating with French law enforcement in the investigation. He disclosed that three people involved in the case have been arrested by police, and the case remains under further investigation. He also thanked the Brigade de Répression du Banditisme (BRB) for their quick, professional handling of the incident and reminded the community to stay vigilant, verify information through reliable sources, and be wary of suspicious communications. Earlier, French media outlet RTL reported that Binance’s France CEO was the victim of an attempted robbery on February 12. Around 7 a.m. that day, three masked individuals armed with weapons broke into an apartment building in France’s Val-de-Marne department, attempting to locate the residence of the company’s French leader. The suspects first forced their way into another resident’s home to get information about the target apartment, then searched the executive’s residence. Since the homeowner was not present, the culprits stole two mobile phones and fled the scene. At 9:15 a.m. the same day, the three suspects attacked another resident in Voœlreixon, mistaking them for a different cryptocurrency entrepreneur. Police later tracked down the three individuals at Lyon-Perrache train station using surveillance footage and mobile phone signals. They are currently in custody pending investigation.

On February 13, at the **opening bell** of U.S. stock markets: - The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 0.03%, the S&P 500 edged down 0.01%, and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.12%. Among cryptocurrency-linked equities: - MicroStrategy (MSTR) gained 4.41%, Coinbase (COIN) jumped 7.35%, Circle (CRCL) rose 4.71%, Sporttrade (SBET) advanced 2.35%, and Bitfarms (BMNR) climbed 4.00%. ### Notes on U.S. language habits: 1. **"Opening bell"** is the standard term for market open (more natural than "opening"). 2. Explicit index names (e.g., *Dow Jones Industrial Average*, *Nasdaq Composite*) are common in financial news. 3. Verbs like *dipped/edged down/slipped* (for small declines) and *gained/jumped/advanced/climbed* (for gains) add variety (avoids repeating "fell/rose"). 4. Adding company full names (with ticker symbols in parentheses) is typical for clarity in financial briefs. 5. Concise, bullet-point structure aligns with U.S. news style for quick updates.
