Circle and Nium Partner to Connect USDC Settlement to Global Payment Network

On May 27th, Circle, a financial technology service affiliate of Circle Internet Group, announced a strategic partnership with Nium, a global real-time cross-border payment infrastructure provider, to connect stablecoin settlements with a global payment network spanning over 190 countries. Per the announcement, Nium is joining the Circle Payment Network (CPN) as a global payment partner, granting financial institutions in the CPN network direct access to Nium’s disbursement infrastructure, which supports more than 100 local currencies. This collaboration enables financial institutions to settle transactions using USDC, seamlessly route funds into Nium’s payment infrastructure via the CPN network through a single integrated workflow, and easily convert local currency funds for transfer to global bank accounts, digital wallets, and payment cards.
