Ant International announced it has completed its Series A financing round. Participants in the round include Ant Group, several existing shareholders such as Alibaba, and multiple renowned international investment institutions, with total funding amounting to approximately $1.2 billion. The funds will be used to expand global operations, accelerate investment in cutting-edge technologies like AI, and broaden inclusive fintech services including cross-border payments and global accounts, to help global merchants drive growth.
On March 19, 2024, Jing Xiandong released an all-staff letter announcing that Ant International, OceanBase, and Ant Digital Technology—all under Ant Group—have each established their own boards of directors, operating independently in the market. Currently, Jing Xiandong serves as Chairman of Ant International, Yang Peng as Chief Executive Officer, and Douglas Feagin as President.
Ant International’s business covers major markets including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America, connecting over 150 million global merchants and more than 2 billion consumer accounts. It has innovation, settlement, and operation centers in locations such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Currently, Ant International has four core business segments: Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and Bettr. These segments focus respectively on enhancing global payment interoperability, developing AI and other tech-driven merchant payment, treasury management, and fintech solutions, and building extensive cooperation networks with financial institutions, tech enterprises, and merchants both domestically and internationally.
