Coinbase Launches AI Agent Tool, Supporting AI Agent to Execute Trades and Payments

2026.06.12 01:13:52

On June 12th, Coinbase announced the launch of Coinbase for Agents, a new tool that allows users to connect AI agents directly to their Coinbase accounts—enabling these agents to act on users’ behalf within set limits, including executing trades, processing payments, and running custom workflows. The product is currently available in MCP and CLI formats, and works with widely used AI agents like ChatGPT and Claude, combining financial reasoning capabilities with hands-on execution power. Within a user’s authorized scope, these AI agents can carry out spot and derivative crypto trades, plus handle tasks such as portfolio rebalancing, limit order placement, and capital efficiency management tailored to users’ specific financial goals. Looking ahead, Coinbase plans to expand Coinbase for Agents to support trading in stocks, index funds, prediction markets, and commodities. The company also intends to add x402 functionality, letting agents make payments for proprietary data, computing resources, statistical datasets, images, and other services. For security, Coinbase noted that users can set up a separate portfolio for their AI agent operations, preventing agents from accessing any of the user’s other holdings. Future updates will include more granular control rules, such as caps on maximum trade sizes, approved counterparties, and spending limits. All payments made via the feature will adhere to Coinbase’s existing transaction monitoring and Know Your Transaction (KYT) checks. Additionally, Coinbase revealed that Coinbase Advisor—its SEC and CFTC-registered financial advisor service—has been integrated directly into the Coinbase App, giving users on-demand advice and guidance. Collectively, Coinbase for Agents, Coinbase Advisor, and Coinbase Payments mark the start of the company’s agent-focused financial product suite for both consumers and businesses.

OKX Wallet Launches "Social Login", Allowing Users to Create Self-Custody Wallets via Email and Other Accounts

According to official announcements, OKX Wallet has launched "Social Login", enabling users to create a wallet in seconds via email, Apple, or Google accounts—no need to record or back up mnemonics throughout the process. Wallets created via this feature remain self-custodial: their mnemonics and private keys are generated, stored, and signed in a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). OKX cannot access or export users’ private keys, so users always retain full control of their assets, and can export private keys or convert to a regular mnemonic-based wallet at any time. It is understood that OKX Wallet’s "Social Login" uses a unified account system, with one account accessible across four platforms: App, browser extension, web, and Agent, which automatically restores the same wallet after login. The feature initially supports 19 chains including X Layer and Solana, and natively supports trading scenarios such as Swap, cross-chain operations, limit orders, copy trading, and Real-World Assets (RWA).
