Coinbase CEO addresses Base community controversy: Will not endorse tokens, content on his X account is not investment signals.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has responded to recent discussions over changes to his X account profile photo and the Base community’s claims of “insufficient support,” thanking the community for its feedback and acknowledging that he failed to clearly communicate relevant expectations earlier. Armstrong stressed that users should not treat content on his personal X account as investment advice or token trading signals. He explained that the posts he shares are mostly online content he finds interesting, and he may not always know if such content is linked to a specific token or project. Neither his profile photo nor his posts represent endorsement of or commitment to any project. Addressing the Base community’s calls for more support, Armstrong outlined Base’s mission: to build financial service infrastructure that supports applications including tokenized stocks, lending protocols, stablecoin payments, and meme coin trading. He stated that while he advocates for economic freedom, he will not use his personal account to “promote specific tokens” or issue trading calls. Armstrong added that Coinbase has numerous tokens it wants to list, but cannot support all due to compliance and regulatory requirements. The Base team also does not promote specific projects or tokens to users. He detailed that Coinbase and Base currently support ecosystem growth primarily through offline Base Batches events, developer grant programs, investments via Coinbase Ventures and the Base Ecosystem Fund, and integrating top-tier Base DeFi protocols into Coinbase products. Armstrong noted that going forward, Coinbase will continue to prioritize supporting projects that deliver long-term user value, while reiterating that his personal social media content “is not investment advice.”

Competition intensifies on Robinhood Chain’s launchpad, as PONS surges past $30 million in market cap after catching Vlad’s attention.

According to GMGN monitoring, Robinhood ecosystem token PONS rallied sharply today, with its market cap briefly surging past $39 million to hit an all-time high, before pulling back to $28 million. It still holds a 39% 24-hour gain, with trading volume around $13.6 million in the same period. Market attention is centered on Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev following PONS founder MEADGod this morning. Current market expectations revolve around competition for Circus Trade, the new meme token launchpad in the Bonk ecosystem. As one of the native tokens of the Pons launchpad, PONS broke through its previous high after renewed capital inflow. The Robinhood market has recently been consistently pricing on-chain infrastructure and "utility-type" tokens. Related reading: Robinhood's Launchpad Battle Royale: Who Will Come Out on Top? Analysis: Bitcoin's MVRV percentile drops to 5%, a level that historically typically marks the long-term bottom zone.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost wrote in a post that after Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $60,000 in February and entered the capitulation zone, its MVRV percentile dropped below 10%, hitting the historically defined undervalued territory. Since June, the metric has shown a similar trend again. Unlike the traditional MVRV indicator, the MVRV percentile measures the current MVRV’s position relative to historical cycles, and by incorporating a historical probability dimension, it better reflects the current market environment. Currently, BTC’s MVRV percentile stands at around 5%, meaning Bitcoin has spent roughly 95% of its historical trading time at higher MVRV levels. This indicates BTC is significantly undervalued relative to its historical evolution, and such phases have historically coincided with long-term bottom regions.
