Analysis: BTC is on the verge of a sharp directional breakout, with the spot market’s 5% holding concentration climbing to 12%.

Crypto analyst Murphy notes that the concentration of BTC spot chips within a 5% price range has been steadily climbing, rising from 10% in May to 12% currently. While still some way off the 15% threshold, it has already surpassed the level that triggered major volatility back in May. The logic is straightforward: when chips are overly concentrated in a specific price range, even minor price swings will intensify turnover of sensitive chips, sparking larger volatility. Historical data shows that when concentration exceeds 15%, the likelihood of a major market move rises—this metric hit 18% in November 2025 and 16% in January 2026. However, after February this year, price declines triggered a marginal diminishing effect on the supply side. Prolonged low liquidity and low turnover made chip concentration less pronounced than in prior periods. Yet, a concentration of just 10% in May already caused sharp volatility, indicating market sentiment has grown far more fragile and unstable. Murphy judges that if BTC continues consolidating sideways in the $62,000–$66,000 range in the coming period, chip concentration will inevitably rise further. Eventually, a violent upward or downward breakout will be required to reallocate the overly concentrated chips, which could mark a critical directional choice at the end of this bear market. The 5% range spot chip concentration metric has successfully aided in predicting volatility direction at multiple key junctures. The current rebound in this indicator signals the market is drawing closer to the next window of sharp directional shift.

Amazon’s data center in Bahrain was damaged in an attack by Iran.

Bloomberg reported that satellite images show two Amazon Inc. data centers in Bahrain were damaged, consistent with Iran’s claim last week that it had carried out a missile attack on the facilities. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) released high-resolution satellite imagery via Tasnim News Agency, its official media outlet, showing severe damage to the two data centers located in Zallaq and Askar, Bahrain. The IRGC stated the facilities were targeted because Amazon supports U.S. military operations. Independent low-resolution images from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Sentinel-2 satellite constellation, reviewed by Bloomberg, also show signs of damage at both sites.

Foreign media reports: Changxin Technology will disrupt the monopolistic landscape of the global storage industry.

Multiple South Korean media outlets have linked the recent sharp plunge in South Korea’s stock market to the listing of ChangXin Memory Technologies, China’s largest semiconductor firm. Market concerns that ChangXin will use the funds raised from its stock debut to catch up with semiconductor giants including Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix have spread, weighing on investor sentiment. Peter Alexander, an analyst at Z-Ben Advisors, noted that following the development paths of the steel and new energy vehicle industries, ChangXin will rapidly capture market share in the low-end storage chip segment and eventually challenge the monopoly of Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology in the global storage industry.
