Trader Ouyang Zhuobai comments on the sharp rebound of the storage sector: "Extremes meet, a unanimous bullish sentiment at the trading level will generate reverse deleveraging momentum."

Renowned trader Ouyang Zhuai Bai commented in a post that the storage sector staged a sharp rebound today after days of steep declines. As extreme conditions often trigger reverse forces, examples include Zhang Xiaolong’s call for college students to invest in tech stocks and the "Hynix Girl" posting messages about Seoul’s golden era. Just a few weeks ago, the storage sector’s fundamentals remained largely unchanged, yet stock prices have halved—this is the reverse deleveraging momentum formed by unanimous bullish sentiment across trading levels. Earlier, he stated, “I will continue taking positions today,” placing stepped limit buy orders for SK Hynix ADRs in the range of roughly $122 to $94. A few days ago, he noted that the year’s biggest trading opportunity had arrived, and began bottom-fishing for storage concept stocks via a strategy of no stop-losses and stepped spot purchases. Ouyang Zhuai Bai has long employed a low-leverage trend trading strategy, with core tenets including “going long on real breakouts,” short-term adjustments during extreme market sentiment, and strict position control—total leverage usually does not exceed 2x. His trading philosophy emphasizes achieving compound returns through trend-aligned holdings and phased bottom-fishing, with staying active in the market as a primary principle, and he opposes high leverage and full-position trading.

Fed's Barkin: Whether interest rates are sufficiently high remains an 'open question'

Richmond Federal Reserve President Thomas Barkin said whether the interest rate level set by the Fed is sufficient to curb inflation remains an "open question," adding that he is uncertain whether he would vote in favor of a rate hike like the three other regional Fed presidents who backed the move in this week's vote. In a Friday interview, Barkin stated, "I think there are indeed good reasons to tighten policy and reverse some of the interest rate cuts implemented last year." Noting the slowdown in June inflation data, he added, "I would also argue... there is still time before the next meeting to assess whether the current policy stance is appropriate." Barkin will not participate in interest rate decision votes until next year. Additionally, he expressed skepticism about whether the labor market has strengthened significantly, saying, "I don't get the sense that the labor market is very tight." He also pointed out that the pass-through of price increases in the economy is uneven, making it difficult to determine how much inflation remains. (Jin10)
