Kioxia shares rise 6.6% as the company and SanDisk unveil the world's highest-density 3D NAND flash memory.

According to Bitget market data, the Nikkei 225 index opened higher and is now up 3.12%. Japanese stock Kioxia rose 6.6% amid news that Kioxia and SanDisk officially unveiled their latest BiCS10 3D QLC NAND flash memory at the Future of Memory and Storage Conference (FMS), which is claimed to be the highest-density 3D NAND product officially launched globally to date. The chip features a 332-layer stacked structure, with an areal storage density of 37 Gb/mm², supports a maximum 4800 MT/s high-speed interface, and includes independent command address (SCA) functionality. It is primarily targeted at the high-capacity data center SSD market. Compared to the BiCS10 3D TLC NAND products the two companies launched earlier, which had a storage density of over 29 Gb/mm², the new QLC NAND further enhances data center storage capacity density. Industry analysts predict that with similar chip dimensions and number of memory cells, the chip could reach approximately 1.33Tb in capacity, though the manufacturer has not yet disclosed specific capacity specifications.
