Binance Security Incident Update on Flow (FLOW): Hacker's Remaining Funds Frozen on the Platform, Urging Project Team to Disclose Postmortem Report

On December 31, Binance issued an update regarding the Flow (FLOW) network security incident: On December 27, 2025, a critical security vulnerability emerged in the Flow network, enabling hackers to exploit the system flaw and mint a substantial number of tokens. Upon learning of the incident, Binance took immediate action—its team successfully traced and froze the hacker’s remaining funds on the Binance platform to mitigate losses and safeguard the interests of Flow token holders. Regarding the incident and ongoing communications between Binance and the Flow project team, the following key points are emphasized: · Though Binance has proactively reached out to the Flow team and offered support, the team has not engaged in any substantive communication or cooperation since the incident. · If the Flow team opts to implement an independent on-chain recovery solution for this hack, it is critical to exclude addresses of major centralized exchanges (CEXs)—including Binance’s wallet—since affected users across various CEX platforms have already received compensation. · Binance is urging the Flow team to release a comprehensive post-mortem report that clearly identifies the root cause of the incident and outlines future measures to prevent repeats. If the team requires support, Binance stands ready to provide security assistance to help strengthen the Flow ecosystem’s defense capabilities.
