Willy Woo: Bitcoin Still Has Upside Potential, Compound Annual Growth Rate Expected to Stay at 8% for 15 to 20 Years

On May 18th, the renowned cryptocurrency analyst Willy Woo stated in a social media post that "Bitcoin has long since passed the stage of experiencing several-fold annual growth rates like it did in 2017. 2020 was a crucial year for Bitcoin's 'institutionalization', with corporations and sovereign entities starting to accumulate Bitcoin. The compound annual growth rate has dropped from over 100% to 30 to 40%. Bitcoin is currently being traded as the newest macro asset in 150 years, and it will continue to absorb global capital until it reaches a certain 'equilibrium point'. Considering that the long-term monetary expansion is about 5% and GDP growth is 3%, I believe that Bitcoin's ultimate annual compound growth rate will stabilize at around 8%. However, it may take another 15 to 20 years to reach the 'equilibrium point'. There is hardly any other publicly investable asset that can rival Bitcoin in terms of long-term performance."
