Ten days ago, the entity liquidated 37.26 million CRV tokens it had held for three years, booking a realized loss of $5.97 million. Three hours ago, it transferred 4.01 million PENDLE tokens it had held for one year to OKX, with an unrealized loss of $3.64 million.

Beating AI News — Anthropic has officially launched Claude Code Mods. The feature, previously previewed as Function Hooks, is now officially named Mods, with Function Hooks serving as its underlying technology. A Mod is essentially a plugin that can directly modify Claude Code, altering its behavior and interface. Mods can rewrite prompts before they are sent to the model, intercept, modify or retry tool calls, handle permission requests, and even replace parts of the interface. Users can also directly ask Claude to write a Mod, install it, and load it immediately. Anthropic has begun splitting Claude Code’s built-in features into Mods, with the /diff feature being the first to migrate; users can disable it or replace it with their own version. The company plans to continue migrating more built-in features, leaving Claude Code with a smaller core in the end. Mods are still installed and shared via existing plugins, and work on both CLI and desktop platforms. However, Mods lack sandbox isolation and have the same local permissions as Claude Code itself. Anthropic recommends only installing Mods from trusted sources.

Coinbase’s latest report indicates that Bitcoin (BTC) profit-taking has surged to its highest level this year, with market demand showing signs of cooling. On September 22, BTC holders booked profits from 25,700 BTC in a single day — the highest daily profit-taking volume since 2026. Meanwhile, the unrealized profit margin of short-term BTC traders climbed to 33%, its peak since December 2024. Over the past 30 days, BTC’s apparent spot demand has fallen by 170,000 units; the incremental speculative futures demand also dropped from 164,000 on September 14 to 16,000 on September 29.

Illinois rolled out a tax policy in June this year that no other U.S. state has attempted before. The state levies a 0.2% tax on anyone who buys cryptocurrency, sells crypto, or even transfers crypto assets between wallets—regardless of whether the trader makes a profit or loss. This means simply using cryptocurrency can trigger a taxable event. On Thursday, Illinois agreed to pause implementation of the new policy. Per a court filing, state officials and crypto industry groups jointly asked a Sangamon County judge to push back the tax’s effective date from January 1, 2027 to July 1, 2027. The request remains pending the judge’s approval.
