Analyst: Bitcoin Hodlers Still Opting to Hold Long Term Rather Than Sell, Market May Be Entering Consolidation Phase

2025.06.23 15:24:27

On June 23rd, the CryptoQuant analyst Avocado_onchain put forward that the "Bitcoin price recently witnessed a sharp drop to approximately $98,000, but it has then rebounded to above $100,000. Although concerns about a 'double top' pattern are spreading in the market and the sentiment is gradually turning bearish, as was mentioned earlier, the on-chain data has not yet presented any clear warning signals yet. Overall, Bitcoin seems to still be in a quiet consolidation stage and is gathering strength. Looking at the 30-day moving average of Binary CDD, long-term holders are still choosing to hold rather than sell. In the previous analysis, I pointed out that when the Binary CDD 30-day average exceeds 0.8, it usually indicates that a correction phase is about to come. However, this time, the indicator reached its peak around 0.6 and started to decline, suggesting that the market has not shown signs of overheating. Although the data performance in each cycle is not exactly the same, the mild trend of this cycle that did not exceed 0.8 may still indicate that the market is entering a consolidation stage, and there may be a further price or time correction to follow. Importantly, this does not mean the end of the bull market cycle. On the contrary, similar to the previous two stages, we are likely to witness another 'staircase-like' market and welcome a new round of gains after consolidation. Historical experience shows that Bitcoin's explosive rallies often occur when market attention is fading and the sentiment is subdued. Therefore, the current tranquility may indeed be the prelude to the next major uptrend."

Aptos CEO denies rumors of a shutdown in the next six months, calling them "stupid rumors".

Addressing community rumors that Aptos will shut down its blockchain within the next six months, Aptos Labs co-founder and CEO Avery Ching publicly dismissed the claim as "a foolish rumor". The X account that originally shared the unsubstantiated claim did not provide official Aptos announcements, governance proposals, or other supporting documents. When pressed for evidence, the account stated the content was merely "hearsay" and urged caution in taking it seriously. Aptos’ current public governance records still show network upgrade proposals and executed mainnet feature updates, with no official plans to shut down the mainnet identified so far.

Prominent Trader: Bitcoin short target remains at $79,000, deepest correction expected between $69,000 and $71,000

Renowned trader Doctor Profit posted that he has shorted Bitcoin at $86,200 and is adding short positions in the $86,500–$89,500 range to build a swing short position. His current target remains $79,000; once that level is hit, he will decide to either take profits or hold the short based on Bitcoin’s price reaction. He noted the deepest correction range he is considering is $69,000–$71,000, and does not expect prices to drop lower. While the short entered at $86,200 is working so far, he will assess the market at each price level rather than betting on a deep correction outright. His next step is to first monitor support performance near $79,000 to determine whether Bitcoin will continue falling, reverse to extend the bull market, or hit a new local high.

Pump.fun adjusts its Callout reward algorithm, emphasizing quality priority and diminishing returns for high-frequency posts.

Pump.fun co-founder Alon addressed the platform’s $15 million Callout rewards program in a post, noting that the initiative launched two months ago, but its initial mechanism inadvertently incentivized improper behavior—spurring low-quality spam and discouraging users from creating high-quality content. Pump.fun has since adjusted its reward algorithm to prioritize quality over quantity: the more Callouts a user posts daily, the lower their marginal returns. The mechanism is evolving in the right direction through iterations, but significant work remains to sustain consistent high-quality content creation among a large user base. The rewards have been distributed to both top accounts and those with fewer than 10 followers, with no favoritism or preferential treatment. Alon advised users to focus on recommending high-quality tokens, building trust with traders via their content, and earning rewards based on trading volume attributed to their Callouts. He emphasized that spamming Callouts or dumping tokens on followers will not work.
