Perspective: BTC’s current rebound has temporarily lost directional momentum, and a trend reversal cannot yet be confirmed.

CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr. said BTC rose from around $76,000 to $87,000 between September 17 and 27, pushing the share of BTC in profit up from 65% to a peak of 73.8%. As of September 29, that figure had pulled back to roughly 72%, still below the long-term average of 76%. Separately, the fast and slow lines of the Bitcoin Impulse Performance indicator both dropped to 0 during September 29–30, with BTC price holding at around $83,000. Adler pointed out that a momentum reading of zero means the current rally has temporarily lost directional momentum, though a trend reversal cannot yet be confirmed. If the indicator falls further into negative territory while the profit supply share declines again, the signal of a weakening market will strengthen significantly.

Anthropic CEO changes tune after White House dinner: AI poses risks, but the U.S. aims to "win safely"

Beating AI News Flash Two weeks ago, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei publicly called on the AI industry to "hit the brakes" — but his tone has shifted noticeably after two dinners with Trump. After the White House lunch, he still acknowledged "very real risks" in AI, but no longer mentioned slowing down model development. Instead, he cited Trump’s statement: "Whoever wins AI wins everything." Amodei later said resolving these risks is "still under discussion", but everyone must work together to ensure the U.S. can both win and "win safely". He added specifically: "If we work with the president and everyone here, we can win safely." This marks a stark contrast to his stance two weeks ago. Back then, Amodei had written directly: "We must slow the pace of advancing AI model capabilities", arguing that continuing at the current rate could lead to more severe, unmanageable risks in the coming months. Trump then publicly opposed the slowdown, saying it would only allow China to catch up to the U.S., and labeled some AI disaster warnings as "hoaxes". The two, who had previously had a tense relationship, dined together twice this week. Amodei first had a private dinner with Trump on Sunday evening, then two days later attended the White House AI lunch, where he signed a voluntary safety agreement alongside Google, Meta, OpenAI, xAI, and Nvidia. Risks still exist, the slowdown call is gone, with the new buzzphrase being "win safely".
