The Ethereum Mainnet Fusaka Upgrade is tentatively scheduled to take place on December 3rd this year

On September 19th, Christine Kim, the former vice president of Galaxy Digital Research, posted on the X platform, highlighting that an important decision was reached during today's Ethereum developer call ACDC #165. The developers confirmed the timetable for the public testnet and the BPO hard fork schedule for Fusaka. The Fusaka mainnet upgrade is scheduled to occur on December 3rd of this year at Epoch 411392. It is reported that the Fusaka upgrade is the next major hard fork following the Pectra upgrade in May 2025. It focuses on the network's scalability, efficiency, and resilience. It is a core part of Ethereum's "Surge" phase, aiming to reduce the cost of Layer 2 (L2) rollups by optimizing data availability and validator responsibilities and increase overall throughput. Based on some preliminary analyses of Fusaka Devnet-5, it is expected that blob capacity will more than double in the first two weeks after the launch of Fusaka.
