Sharplink CEO: Firm Believer that Ethereum will be Wall Street's Ultimate Foundation for Building Digital Finance

2025.11.12 08:32:24

On November 12th, Joseph Chalom, the Co-CEO of Sharplink and the former Head of Digital Assets at BlackRock, stated in an interview that he is firmly convinced that Ethereum will serve as Wall Street's ultimate foundation for building digital finance. The three key attributes that financial institutions are most focused on - trust, security, and liquidity - are all manifested in the Ethereum network. Due to this, he has made a decision to stake his entire post-BlackRock career on this belief. He characterizes Ethereum as a "multi-functional" platform that not only supports financial transactions but also enables lending, trading, NFTs, and complex applications. In contrast, he refers to Bitcoin as an "excellent tool for storing value." Joseph Chalom views Sharplink as a continuation of his mission at BlackRock: bridging the gap between traditional finance and the crypto ecosystem. "We have spent decades establishing intermediated financial channels, and Ethereum provides us with the opportunity to rebuild these channels - more quickly, at a lower cost, and with greater security." He does not regard Ethereum as a speculative technology but rather as the cornerstone of the digital finance wave. "One day, we will not distinguish between DeFi and TradFi; it will all simply be referred to as finance. And Ethereum is the underlying infrastructure that supports it all."
