Report: Bitcoin Mining in the US Creates Over 31,000 Jobs

2025.02.17 01:40:15

February 17th. As per a recent report, although the Bitcoin mining industry is still in its nascent stage, in the United States, it has directly created more than 31,000 jobs through mining operations and indirectly through related support industries. This research was carried out by the Perryman Group and released by the Texas Blockchain Council and The Digital Chamber. The report indicated that 12 states in the US account for the majority of Bitcoin mining activities across the nation. Among these 12 states, Texas has witnessed the greatest job creation from mining activities, directly and indirectly generating over 12,200 jobs related to Bitcoin mining. The report also discovered that mining activities contribute more than $4.1 billion to the US economy's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) annually and support local energy utility infrastructure by serving as a load-balancing resource for the grid. After the previous remarks by former US President Trump regarding the US leading the Bitcoin mining industry and developing power infrastructure for mining and AI data centers to maintain global competitiveness, the significance of mining infrastructure has been further highlighted.
