January 6th — ZenChain has successfully closed an $8.5 million financing round, led by Watermelon Capital, DWF Labs, and Genesis Capital, per official sources. The cross-chain infrastructure project also secured a $1.5 million angel investment commitment ahead of its Token Generation Event (TGE). The newly raised capital will be allocated to: accelerating core protocol development, expanding validator nodes and ecosystem participation, supporting marketing and ecosystem growth initiatives, and preparing for the upcoming TGE and subsequent mainnet milestones. ZenChain aims to enable Bitcoin and EVM-compatible assets to operate within a unified, secure framework. The network prioritizes capital efficiency, validator consensus security, and long-term sustainability over short-term speculation.

Asked if Calibaf could be trusted to cooperate with Washington, Trump responded, “We will wait and see.” He also noted he would share details in roughly a week. On Sunday, Trump told the Financial Times Calibaf had authorized oil tankers to transit the Strait of Hormuz — a move Trump interpreted as a sign Calibaf is willing to make concessions for a war-ending deal. Calibaf has denied engaging in any negotiations with the U.S., but experts characterize him as a hardliner with the standing to strike an agreement. Per the Wall Street Journal, Calibaf is one of two Iranian officials temporarily removed from the U.S. and Israel’s “death list.”
