Crypto-friendly bank Revolut has secured approval from Argentina’s central bank to acquire Banco Cetelem Argentina, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas. Upon completion of the transaction, the bank will be renamed Revolut Bank Argentina S.A.U. Revolut noted that the new entity will not immediately offer products or services to the public; instead, it will first finalize regulatory and operational preparations ahead of its commercial launch. Argentine media projects that services could officially roll out as early as 2027. Revolut added that over 150,000 Argentine users have already joined its waitlist. Decentralized privacy computing project Acurast announced it has achieved large-scale deployment of the open-source "System 1" decision model Laya on its smartphone-powered network. Developed by Convai Innovations and licensed under Apache-2.0, the model is designed primarily for real-time decision-making rather than traditional text generation. Acurast stated that Laya runs on Android smartphone nodes and is currently used for tasks including real-time gaming, autonomous navigation, email sorting, news headline recognition, content moderation, and prompt injection attack defense. Each decision typically takes 0.2 to 1 second to complete, operating exclusively on CPU. The project added that its network has connected over 280,000 smartphones across more than 175 countries and regions worldwide, and has processed more than 918 million on-chain transactions.
