US-listed BNB crypto treasury firm Nano Labs and its chairman Kong Jianping announced that their X (formerly Twitter) account was targeted by a phishing attack and has since been successfully recovered. Kong Jianping explained that the attacker sent a phishing email to his public personal email, and his AI assistant incorrectly identified the fake link in the email as X’s official verification page. This led him to input the verification code X sent to his linked email into the phishing page, resulting in the account being compromised. During the breach, the account briefly posted multiple scam messages. Kong Jianping cautioned users against clicking unofficial links, urging vigilance even when AI deems a link trustworthy, and advised setting X’s linked email to an address not easily accessible publicly to reduce the risk of account theft.
