According to US tech media outlet WIRED citing insiders, the Trump administration’s new artificial intelligence (AI) guidelines will be revised to expand oversight of AI models. The White House announced this month it has developed an AI framework requiring US labs developing cutting-edge AI models to undergo federal security testing prior to public release. The framework has not been made public, and there are no reported plans to release it. Currently, the framework only covers so-called closed-source models developed by firms including Anthropic and OpenAI. However, a White House official revealed that the framework is expected to also include open-source models in the coming months. In short, once open-source models reach the same "cutting-edge" capability level as Anthropic’s Mythos-class models and OpenAI’s GPT-5.6, they will be incorporated into the framework and subject to pre-release testing.

In the semiconductor equipment space, Applied Materials climbed over 4%, Lam Research advanced over 4%, and KLA rose over 3%. Among next-generation AI cloud service providers, Nebius jumped over 34% and CoreWeave surged more than 19%. Turning to the Middle East situation: Former U.S. President Trump stated that the U.S. has full control over the Strait of Hormuz. A spokesperson for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responded that if Iran faces another threat, hundreds of thousands of miles of energy transmission lines, thousands of power plants, all U.S. and non-U.S. facilities, and even global infrastructure connected to the internet will be targeted. According to HTX market data, Bitcoin edged down 0.19% in the past 24 hours, trading at $63,423.

According to monitoring by Onchain Lens, BlackRock’s ETF address has cumulatively withdrawn 1,019.27 BTC (valued at approximately $64.64 million) and 301.77 ETH (valued at around $570,000) from Coinbase Prime over the past few hours.

CoreWeave Inc. has warned investors that shifting away from its current exclusive use of Nvidia AI chips could require significant time and capital. In a Wednesday regulatory filing, CoreWeave stated that changes in customer demand may force the company to invest "time, capital, and resources" to obtain alternative products to Nvidia GPUs. The company cautioned that this could ultimately impact its ability to deliver required products to clients.
