Trump Refuses to Confirm Validity of US-Iran Ceasefire Agreement, Bitcoin Continues to Soar, Circle Surges 20%

2026.05.05 07:20:26

On May 5, CCTV News reported that U.S. President Donald Trump declined to explicitly confirm whether the U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement remains in effect during an interview. When asked if the ceasefire had ended and whether military strikes could resume, Trump responded: "I can't tell you that. If I answer, you'd say the person isn't smart enough to be president." Earlier that day, Trump had warned in another interview that Iran would be "completely obliterated" if it attempted to attack U.S. ships in the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf. However, he later noted that from a military perspective, the U.S.-Iran conflict is "basically over." Per HTX market data, Bitcoin is maintaining its upward momentum, currently trading at $79,915 with a 24-hour gain of 1.02%. Over the past 24 hours, total network liquidations reached $513 million—$170 million in long positions and $343 million in short positions. Bitget market data shows U.S. stocks closed lower on Monday: the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.1%, the S&P 500 declined 0.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.19%. Circle (CRCL.N) surged 20%, while Micron Technology (MU.O) gained 6%.

Veteran NFT projects are collectively migrating to the Robinhood Chain to restart their ventures. After the former co-founder of the Fat Penguin NFT collection raked in millions of dollars, the NFT project The Saudis has announced it will release a new NFT collection.

Yesterday, Cole Villemain, the co-founder ousted via a January 2022 vote by the "Fat Penguins" community, launched the Spritehood NFT collection on the Robinhood Chain. The collection, with a total supply of 44,444 units, sold out entirely in under an hour, generating $1.28 million in revenue for Cole, per statistics. The event sparked widespread discussion in the NFT space. Crypto artist Beeple posted a meme today claiming "Robinhood Chain saved NFTs," a tweet that drew a positive response from Robinhood co-founder Vlad Tenev: "Someone’s gotta do it." As a result, hype around NFTs on the Robinhood Chain has resurfaced. Tonight, the once-popular NFT collection The Saudis announced plans to launch new NFTs on the Robinhood Chain, a move that earned community approval. The collection’s floor price surged quickly from 0.028 ETH to 0.15 ETH, but due to its long period of inactivity, the NFT’s trading volume remains low, making the floor price spike unsustainable. Adding Stonkbroker—a project with Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) community ties, whose core team and NFT holders overlap heavily with BAYC members—several star projects from the Ethereum mainnet ecosystem have successfully relaunched on the Robinhood Chain. However, the sustainability of this latest NFT boom may hinge on builders’ ongoing innovation and sincerity.

A prominent trader notes that the Clarity Act will play the same role crypto ETFs served in the last cycle, and Bitcoin could bottom out and rally ahead of the bill’s passage.

Prominent trader Killa posted that during the last bull run, Bitcoin began recovering from lows ahead of ETF rumors and formal approval, emphasizing markets typically price in positive news in advance. This cycle could follow a similar pattern: the current "Clarity Act" (Regulatory Clarity Act) is shaping a new narrative. "If it indeed acts as a catalyst, it will likely mark the start of BTC’s first meaningful rally phase since the recovery from the prior bear market, and its approval will soon push Bitcoin to a new all-time high (ATH)—just like the ETF approval did," Killa noted. A BTC-focused quantitative trader, Killa correctly predicted the peak of this bull run in May 2025 and has over 200,000 followers on X. In mid-April, he shorted Bitcoin at $74,688, then switched to a long position during the broad market sell-off on June 5.
