Analyst: The proportion of Bitcoin long-term holders transferring their holdings to trading platforms is approaching its historical peak.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted in a recent post that the volume of Bitcoin (BTC) holdings transferred by long-term holders to trading platforms has recently hit a high. Currently, long-term holders make up 5.1% of total Bitcoin inflows to these platforms — a figure near an all-time high, with only 2020 recording a higher rate, around 5.5%. This shift came after Bitcoin’s sharp price drop. As the metric relies on 90-day moving average data, it carries a degree of lag, meaning changes won’t immediately reflect the latest market developments. While the trend is likely to gradually stabilize going forward, current data shows long-term holders have clearly stepped up their trading activity recently.
