Nodes supporting BIP-110 rejected blocks lacking the required support signal at block height 961,632, triggering a Bitcoin fork. However, the new chain only produced two blocks roughly eight hours after launch, with no indications that miners plan to keep it running. According to BIP-110 monitors, the forked branch is currently at block height 961,633, while Bitcoin’s main chain has reached block height 961,681. BIP-110 is a one-year rule adjustment proposal aimed at restricting non-financial data writes in Bitcoin transactions, including uses like Ordinals inscriptions. The proposal requires at least 1,109 blocks (55%) to signal support over a roughly two-week cycle of 2,016 blocks to activate, but only 51 blocks (2.53%) supported it in the prior cycle.

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan told CoinDesk in an interview that Bitcoin could reach $1.3 million by 2035, with massive institutional capital inflows as the key driver. Hougan noted that global institutions manage $100 trillion to $200 trillion in assets; even a 1% allocation to Bitcoin would translate to $1 trillion to $2 trillion in funds, enough to support the price target. Retail investors have pushed the crypto market from scratch to a $2 trillion market capitalization, and over the next decade, institutional capital will lead growth, driving the total market cap to even higher levels.

According to data from Cypherpunk, Zcash’s privacy pool Ironwood has surpassed Orchard to become the largest shielded pool on the Zcash network. According to reports, the victim, identified only as Ms. Li (alias), met an unfamiliar netizen online who lured her with a "virtual currency internal investment channel"—promising low entry barriers and high returns—and created forged profit screenshots to fake investment gains. The scammers then induced Ms. Li to withdraw 1.1 million yuan in cash for delivery, claiming the funds were needed for "offline cash exchange for US dollar top-ups". According to analyst Jukan, Bank of America (BoA) forecasts that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will announce specific shareholder return plans as follows. For Samsung Electronics, BoA projects the firm will allocate 50% of its free cash flow to shareholder returns, mainly including: a special dividend of over 30 trillion won to be distributed in the third or fourth quarter; share buybacks worth more than 40 trillion won in the first half of 2027; and a year-end dividend of 30 trillion won in April 2027. Additionally, Samsung will conduct an extra share buyback of over 30 trillion won for employee compensation. For SK Hynix, BoA also forecasts the company will allocate 50% of its free cash flow to shareholder returns, with a higher proportion going to share buybacks than cash dividends: projected share repurchases exceed 40 trillion won, while cash dividends exceed 20 trillion won.

Grayscale Research Head Zach Pandl published a note stating that due to Senate scheduling and election-year political factors, the CLARITY Act is now unlikely to pass this year. Pandl noted that the bill’s failure would not immediately impact the development of Bitcoin, major blockchains, and stablecoin payments. Regulators including the SEC are expected to fill regulatory gaps through subsequent rules, particularly in the tokenized securities sector. However, the lack of a comprehensive market structure regulatory framework may drive more new investment and development activities to shift outside the United States.
