Iran: Will Never Open the Strait of Hormuz Until Conditions Are Met, Has Shifted to a "Full Offensive" Stance

As the 60-day interim memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran technically expired, Iran announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the U.S. meets relevant conditions, adding that it has shifted to a "full offensive" strategic posture. Iran’s chief negotiator Kalibaf stated that the U.S. must lift its blockade on Iranian ports, remove oil sanctions, unfreeze Iran’s frozen assets, and completely halt military operations and threats across all fronts; until these demands are fulfilled, the Strait of Hormuz will not reopen. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said Iran will persist in its fight until the other side accepts its terms before agreeing to a ceasefire, noting that "Iran has won both the war and the diplomacy." For his part, Trump said no negotiations or talks are currently underway or scheduled between the U.S. and Iran, adding that the naval blockade remains fully effective, and claiming the Strait of Hormuz is open and operating normally, with all relevant mines either removed or detonated. Meanwhile, Iran is holding bilateral talks with Oman on the management of the Strait of Hormuz. Separately, Iranian media reported that Iran’s military is investigating commercial shipping networks that provide logistics support to the U.S. military, warning that companies or ship operators transporting materials for U.S. operations against Iran may face economic, legal, and retaliatory countermeasures.

Bank of America: SanDisk’s robust growth may reshape Micron’s valuation, reiterates 'Buy' rating and sets $1,550 target price.

Bank of America (BofA) says SanDisk’s recently announced long-term growth targets could serve as a reference for Micron Technology (MU)’s valuation reset, reaffirming a “Buy” rating on Micron with a maintained target price of $1,550—roughly 61% higher than the reported share price of $963. At its investor day, SanDisk projected annual sales growth of nearly 15% in the coming years, and a gross margin rise to over 80% by fiscal 2030. BofA notes that if Micron can sustain similar growth and margins, driven by AI-powered HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) demand and supply discipline, its business may no longer be viewed purely as a traditional cyclical storage operation. The bank forecasts Micron’s fiscal 2030 (FY30) earnings per share (EPS) could reach $200–$250; assigning a higher valuation to its AI-related HBM business would further expand its earnings and valuation upside. BofA also expects that as the storage sector’s profitability improves, Micron may trade at a 12–15x price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio in the future, rather than being valued solely as a traditional cyclical storage stock by the market. On the cash flow front, BofA projects Micron could ramp up share repurchases after the expiration of CHIPS Act-related restrictions on December 9, 2026. The bank estimates Micron’s trailing 12-month free cash flow could exceed $80 billion at that time, theoretically enough to repurchase nearly 10% of its market cap annually, further boosting EPS by reducing share count. BofA identifies three key factors to monitor for Micron going forward: whether high gross margins can be sustained, whether management can strictly execute capital return plans, and the trend of HBM demand and prices.
