A crypto whale took profit on ETH worth $7.24 million, logging an estimated profit of $1.91 million.

According to OnchainLens monitoring, FalconX transferred 80,200 HYPE tokens to a trading platform in the past day, valued at approximately $6.27 million, suggesting an imminent sale.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost released an analysis showing that between August 19 and 22, the total market capitalization of altcoins jumped by $215 billion in just three days, surging over 24% and pushing Total2 (the total crypto market cap excluding BTC) back above the $1 trillion threshold. Mid-cap and small-cap altcoins saw the sharpest gains, with smaller market caps correlating to greater two-way volatility. This rally was directly triggered by multiple statements from Trump on August 19: First, he announced the U.S. would purchase large amounts of Bitcoin, and urged Congress to pass the CLARITY Act, claiming his administration had "completely ended the war on cryptocurrencies." Notably, these positive developments came amid extremely thin trading volume and near-exhausted selling pressure, so their price-moving impact was significantly amplified. On the Binance platform, roughly 80% to 85% of altcoins had traded below their 200-day moving average since last November; as of now, 56% have returned above this average, with over half of the tokens holding above this key technical level, marking a systemic shift in market structure. Historically, such a broad rally of this magnitude is typically an early mid-signal of an altcoin season. However, the market has entered an overbought zone and needs a short-term pullback to digest gains; if altcoin momentum remains strong, new opportunities will continue to emerge going forward.

HODL15Capital data shows that Bitcoin sell orders around the $80,000 price level are primarily from the Binance trading platform. Specifically, Binance holds approximately $31.98 million in sell orders near $79,945, $13.2 million near $80,000, and $33.27 million near $82,500. Coinbase, meanwhile, has around $38.74 million in sell orders near $80,000. HODL15Capital notes that some of these sell orders have been pending for a long time: for example, Binance’s sell order near $80,000 has existed for about 99 days, while its sell order near $82,500 has been pending for roughly 108 days. As such, the firm believes the current sell wall may not be as strong as it appears. It will be necessary to wait for BTC to trade closer to $80,000 to confirm whether these pending orders are actually intended for sale, or if sellers will move their sell orders higher.

The U.S. economic growth momentum is accelerating. The S&P Global U.S. Composite PMI Index rose 1.5 points in August to 56.0, marking its highest level since April 2022 and the third consecutive month of expansion. Meanwhile, the Services PMI Index climbed 2.2 points to 56.8, also hitting a high not seen since March 2022. The Manufacturing PMI Index, by contrast, fell 0.7 points to 53.9, its lowest reading in the past five months, though it still remains in expansion territory. U.S. corporate hiring, led by the services sector, added jobs at the fastest pace since January 2025. These data indicate that the U.S. GDP annual growth rate will reach +3.0% in the third quarter of 2026, up from +1.5% in the second quarter. Artificial intelligence is driving a historic growth wave.

Crypto analyst Ali Charts stated in a post that two bear market end phases in Bitcoin’s history share a common trait: a strong weekly reversal candlestick that emerges unexpectedly for most market participants, acting as a trend reversal signal. Such rallies typically start with a short squeeze. As prices rise, bearish traders keep adding short positions; as the rally accelerates, these short positions get forced liquidated, further driving prices higher. Data shows Bitcoin posted a 31.98% weekly gain in 2019, a move that helped confirm the end of the bear market and the start of a new uptrend. In January 2023, amid extreme bearish sentiment following the FTX collapse, Bitcoin rallied 24.90% in a single week, defying widespread bearish expectations. A similar move may be unfolding in the current market. Many investors previously predicted Bitcoin would bottom in October based on the four-year cycle theory, but the cryptocurrency has surged from $62,700 to $79,500, notching a 26.81% weekly gain. He believes that if historical patterns repeat, this strong weekly reversal could serve as an early signal that Bitcoin is entering a new uptrend cycle.
