HYPE whales start cashing out, with over $20 million in spot assets being sold continuously.

According to monitoring by TradingBeats (formerly Hyperinsight), a HYPE spot whale with an address starting with 0x0a84 has been continuously reducing its positions today. Between 9:49 and 13:49 Beijing time, it sold a total of 11,113 HYPE for approximately $893,200, at an average execution price of around $80.37. In the past half hour, the address sold an additional 1,588.95 HYPE, generating ~$128,400 in turnover. The latest sell occurred at 13:49, after which it still placed a spot sell order for 26.14 HYPE at $81.055, meaning the position reduction has not yet fully halted. The completed sales have yielded a total profit of ~$429,700, with fees of about $221. As of press time, the address still holds 247,555.22 HYPE, valued at roughly $20.059 million, and its remaining spot holdings are approximately 22 times the amount sold in this 4-hour period. Viewpoint: Bitcoin has not hit a new high in nearly a year, and the historical pattern of quickly rallying to new highs after halving is now failing.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted that Bitcoin has not hit a new all-time high in nearly a year. As of now, it has been roughly 342 days since the last all-time high, approaching a full year. In previous cycles, Bitcoin would reach a new all-time high shortly after a halving, but this cycle’s pace has slowed. The next halving is expected around April 2028. Additionally, the interval between the previous cycle’s peak and the next all-time high has been shrinking: 1,180 days between 2014–2017, 1,094 days between 2017–2020, and 849 days between 2021–2024. Based on this trend, Darkfost inferred that if the shortening trend continues, even though Bitcoin has taken a year to break its prior all-time high this cycle, the new high may arrive faster than in previous cycles—there is no need to wait until 2028 under the old template of hitting a new high immediately after a halving. The cycle template is becoming less relevant, but the interval between new highs is shrinking and a new high is inevitable.
