Former U.S. Republican Congressman George Santos has been issued the first-ever lifetime ban by prediction market platform Kalshi, and fined $71,356 for violating the platform’s rules on insider trading and market manipulation. British man recovers £3.3 million worth of Bitcoin from collapsed crypto exchange after 12 years of loss

British man Chris lost access to his digital wallet when crypto exchange Intersango collapsed in 2014. The wallet held Bitcoin worth around £4,000 at the time, and the platform had more than 5,000 accounts back then. It is believed that hundreds of millions of pounds worth of Bitcoin may still be held in the account of one of the exchange’s co-founders, with former users potentially able to reclaim their funds if they can provide sufficient proof of ownership. After years of failed attempts to contact the company, Chris gave up at one point, saying watching Bitcoin’s price keep climbing felt “like a punch to the gut”. But earlier this year, he tried again, hiring a lawyer to help prove he owned dozens of the “lost” Bitcoin. A few months later, the Bitcoin was returned to him — now valued at around £3.3 million.
