According to HTX market data, escalating US-Iran tensions have pushed the crypto market into another downturn. Bitcoin fell below $77,000 this morning, currently trading at $77,300. Ethereum dropped below $2,400, SOL slipped below $100, and BNB is now at $683. The total cryptocurrency market cap has shed 1.5% in 24 hours, standing at $2.7 trillion. Top gainers include SC and ACE, surging over 30% in 24 hours; ONG, FF, FIL, and CHIP rising more than 10%. UNI extended its strong run, climbing 10.37% to $5.9. The primary catalyst for UNI’s rally is the explosion in real trading volume on Robinhood Chain, which has made Uniswap the leading DEX for tokenized stock RWAs on Robinhood. Daily tokenized stock trading volume once hit roughly $130 million, nearly a 10-fold increase in a month. Furthermore, since Uniswap’s v4 version fee switch launched on Robinhood on July 27, the chain has become a key contributor to its fee revenue. Meanwhile, altcoins including CRDOB, HEMI, PROM, MITO, and ZKC have dropped over 10%.

Including other maturing Treasury instruments, roughly $7.5 trillion in tradable US government debt will need refinancing in 2026, while another $4 trillion and $3.5 trillion will mature in 2027 and 2028 respectively. If the Federal Reserve raises interest rates by an additional 75 basis points, annual interest expenses on short-term Treasuries alone could rise by about $50 billion, equivalent to 0.15% of GDP. Additionally, most of these Treasuries will be refinanced at market rates higher than their original issuance rates, meaning the US is facing a round of far more expensive large-scale refinancing.

Viewpoint: Bitcoin has not hit a new high in nearly a year, and the historical pattern of quickly rallying to new highs after halving is now failing.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost noted that Bitcoin has not hit a new all-time high in nearly a year. As of now, it has been roughly 342 days since the last all-time high, approaching a full year. In previous cycles, Bitcoin would reach a new all-time high shortly after a halving, but this cycle’s pace has slowed. The next halving is expected around April 2028. Additionally, the interval between the previous cycle’s peak and the next all-time high has been shrinking: 1,180 days between 2014–2017, 1,094 days between 2017–2020, and 849 days between 2021–2024. Based on this trend, Darkfost inferred that if the shortening trend continues, even though Bitcoin has taken a year to break its prior all-time high this cycle, the new high may arrive faster than in previous cycles—there is no need to wait until 2028 under the old template of hitting a new high immediately after a halving. The cycle template is becoming less relevant, but the interval between new highs is shrinking and a new high is inevitable.
