According to Fortune, blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs has completed an additional funding round on top of its existing Series C financing, doubling its valuation from $1 billion to $2 billion. CEO Esteban Castano did not disclose the amount of the latest round, only describing it as "moderate" and noting the funds came from existing investors. Earlier, TRM Labs became a unicorn after raising $70 million in its Series C round. The firm is expanding its business scope from blockchain forensics to broader cybercrime investigations, and plans to launch a new client-facing platform in November to help law enforcement agencies identify financial fraud, sextortion, and child sexual exploitation crimes driven by AI and deepfake technology. Castano emphasized that AI is the company's "second growth engine" rather than a business transformation. TRM Labs expects its annual recurring revenue to reach $100 million in the coming weeks. According to on-chain analyst Ai Yi (handle @ai_9684xtpa), 21 hours ago, Wintermute received 2.5 million LAPTOP tokens from the LAPTOP multisig address, then distributed the tokens to multiple exchange deposit addresses. Earlier, GSR Markets and G20 received market-making tokens several days prior, and Wintermute is likely a new market-making participant. If this transfer is indeed part of a market-making arrangement, the total amount of LAPTOP tokens allocated for market making will rise to 23 million, accounting for 2.3% of the token’s total supply. The breakdown is: GSR Markets received 15.5 million, G20 received 5 million, and Wintermute received 2.5 million.
