PayPal has launched PYUSDx, a custom stablecoin development platform built in collaboration with stablecoin technology firm M0 and crypto payments company MoonPay. The platform allows enterprises to issue custom stablecoins backed by PayPal USD (PYUSD). PYUSDx is now officially live, with its first batch of crypto-native partners including Saturn, Concrete, and Cap — collectively bringing over $100 million in processed trading volume to the platform. USD.AI and Fairblock will also launch their own stablecoins via the platform. Tokens within the PYUSDx ecosystem are issued by MoonPay Digital Assets Ltd. The platform combines M0’s general stablecoin and digital token technology with MoonPay’s issuance and distribution infrastructure, providing enterprises with stablecoin creation and circulation services.

According to Fortune, Ethereum infrastructure firm Consensys is set to split its business: its consumer-facing operations will operate as an independent company under the MetaMask brand, focusing on wallets and related consumer financial services; its protocol and institutional-focused Ethereum software business will form another independent entity, retaining the Consensys name. Consensys founder Joe Lubin will serve as CEO of the independent MetaMask company, while also acting as executive chairman of the new Consensys; long-time executive Mike Kriak will lead Consensys. Lubin cited one reason for the split as MetaMask’s consumer business growing faster in value than the firm’s other operations. MetaMask has expanded from an Ethereum wallet to a crypto-native digital banking-like platform, offering services including unified accounts, debit cards, perpetual contracts, and prediction markets. Neither Lubin nor company spokespeople provided specific details on the IPO timelines for the two firms or MetaMask’s token issuance plans.
