Claude Code is a pixel-perfect copy of Cursor, not even bothering to rename its Projects feature.

Beating AI News Flash: Anthropic has revamped Claude Projects, resulting in a feature nearly identical to the same-named function Cursor launched a week ago. Cursor uses a central agent as project manager, which does not write code itself—instead, it breaks down tasks, sets plans, and assigns work to multiple agents for parallel completion. Tasks run persistently in the cloud, even when users close their laptops; all agents share project context and can automatically activate local agents when needed. Claude’s new Projects follow almost the exact same design: a central agent breaks down tasks and verifies results, with multiple parallel Claude Code sessions running below. Each session independently modifies code, runs tests, and submits pull requests (PRs), shares project memory, and continues working even when the laptop is closed. Cursor launched its Projects on September 10, while Claude Projects were released on September 17. Even now, Cursor’s feature is more robust, indicating Claude only managed a rough copy in just seven days.
