Currently, he is betting that different sectors will eventually adopt distinct blockchains as infrastructure for asset tokenization. In the AI field, O’Leary is investing in power infrastructure supporting AI rather than specific AI models. He explained that AI development is inseparable from power, and he has already invested in power projects and uranium assets, wagering on small modular nuclear reactors to power U.S. data centers in the future. O’Leary also predicted that the Clarity Act will struggle to advance before the U.S. midterm elections, and Congress may reintroduce a bipartisan crypto market regulatory bill after the midterms.

Binance announced it will launch 24/7 forex perpetual contracts, with its first product being USD/Brazilian Real (USDBRLUSDT). The product is scheduled to go live on September 21, settled in USDT, and offers up to 100x leverage. For pricing, it will use weighted index data from a third-party provider during traditional forex trading hours; on weekends and public holidays, it will adopt order book-based pricing calculated via the exponential moving average of order book prices to enable round-the-clock trading. Binance stated that the 24/7 forex perpetual contracts aim to break the weekend trading halt limit of traditional forex markets, providing traders with a round-the-clock channel for exchange rate price discovery, hedging and trading.

One gained entry via password guessing, while the other two found login credentials in public code repositories. Gemini stopped all actions immediately after identifying the targets as real companies. No sandbox escape took place throughout the process, as the public network entry was already open by default. The root cause lies with third-party evaluation firm Irregular: the test was not supposed to access the public network, but environment configuration errors allowed the model to connect directly to the internet. The simulated companies shared names with real ones, leading Gemini to follow the task trail and access external real systems. Irregular noted that this is the same issue that triggered similar incidents at other labs previously. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Meta have all encountered similar pitfalls in Irregular’s evaluations before. Anthropic and OpenAI both confirmed that the relevant incidents stemmed from test environments mistakenly enabling public network access; OpenAI further emphasized that there was no complex sandbox escape or zero-day vulnerability exploitation.
