According to The Wall Street Journal, prediction market platform Polymarket mishandled stolen debit card fraud issues amid the rapid expansion of its U.S. business. In February this year, the company processing debit card transactions for Polymarket’s U.S. platform discovered a large number of fraudsters binding stolen debit cards to accounts, attempting to place bets and withdraw funds to their own controlled accounts, with the total fraud amount reaching at least $10 million. At its peak, over 80% of deposits were deemed fraudulent, far exceeding the industry standard of roughly 1%.

Genius.fun has launched an exclusive Genius Alpha tag, with users able to gain extra exposure by paying $300.

According to official announcements, Genius.fun has launched the "Genius Alpha" exclusive tag to provide projects with higher visibility. Projects that receive this tag will get a dedicated category and prominent placement on the platform, helping the community improve recognition amid the large number of tokens launched daily. Genius.fun noted that its launchpad has lowered the barrier to token issuance, but it has also made it harder for genuinely dedicated teams to distinguish themselves from projects seeking quick cash-outs. Genius Alpha uses a straightforward differentiation signal: project teams pay $300 to gain additional exposure. The platform also emphasized that the payment only represents the project team’s investment and does not guarantee the project’s quality. Genius Alpha is part of its roadmap, and the platform will later provide more tools to support project launches, organizational operations, and the advancement of business goals. The platform believes that making tokens easy to create is just the first step; helping the community use tokens to achieve longer-term goals will be the focus of its next phase.
