Robinhood to launch crypto perpetual contracts, US stock weekend trading, and AI trading agents

Robinhood unveiled a suite of new products for active traders at its HOOD Summit held in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday. The offerings include AI trading agents, crypto perpetual contracts with up to 10x leverage, and weekend trading for select U.S. stocks and ETFs. The platform will also extend options trading hours, increase intraday margin allowances, and introduce earnings event contracts. Robinhood Agents let users select either OpenAI or Anthropic models within the app, granting the agents access to their individual trading accounts. The agents can analyze markets, build watchlists, and trade stocks, options, and cryptocurrencies. The Loops feature allows users to set long-term instructions to execute strategies when specific conditions are met. By default, the platform requires user approval for every transaction, though users can opt out of this restriction; margin lending is not supported in the initial launch phase. Crypto perpetual contracts will be made available to eligible U.S. users via Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp. BTC and ETH contracts support up to 10x leverage, while other supported assets will initially offer 3x leverage. Weekend trading will be provided through alternative trading system Bruce ATS, covering select stocks and ETFs.
