Soda Labs completes $3 million seed round financing, led by NextBlock.

Programmable privacy infrastructure Soda Labs has secured a $3 million seed round led by NextBlock. Over the past two and a half years, Soda Labs has developed a cryptographic privacy solution combining garbled circuits and multi-party computation (GC-MPC), relying on vetted standard cryptography such as AES and SHA256. Its privacy engine runs on standard cloud CPUs with no specialized hardware required, enabling applications to achieve privacy computing while maintaining connectivity to existing public blockchain infrastructure. Pieter van Poecke, founder of NextBlock, stated that what attracted the firm was the technology’s practicality rather than pure cryptography, noting Soda already has a working product and paying customers. The funding will support the company’s focus on commercial adoption and execution over the next 12 to 18 months, as it expands its architecture from gcEVM—an Ethereum L2 privacy layer currently running on COTI—to Soda Bubble, a chain-agnostic coprocessor for programmable privacy. Soda Labs is rolling out Bubble across major EVM ecosystems including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Base, while also advancing expansion into non-EVM networks such as Solana.

Ondo has launched Private Markets, offering 24/7 trading exposure to pre-IPO tokenized US equities, with its first underlying asset being OpenAI.

Ondo has officially launched Ondo Private Markets, providing qualified investors with pre-IPO tokenized exposure to private companies and supporting 24/7 trading. The first asset listed on the platform is OpenAI’s private market notes. Ondo outlines three core features of Private Markets: First, trade anytime—users can conduct 24/7 trading on the Ondo Perps spot order book from launch day, without waiting for the company to go public. Second, self-custody and freely transferable: users can hold tokens in their own wallets and transfer them freely among qualified holders. Third, backed by mature infrastructure: the platform is built on the same system that powers Ondo’s tokenized stock and tokenized U.S. Treasury products, which boasts a total value locked (TVL) of $3.9 billion and over 1 million holders. Notably, these notes do not represent shares or equity in OpenAI, and holders hold no shareholder rights in OpenAI. Ondo has no affiliation, partnership, or endorsement relationship with OpenAI.
