OpenAI 28-Day Sprint Day 4: Sol (Solana) Ultra-Fast Mode Hits Up to 8x Speed, Codex Supports Real-Time Correction

Beating AI News Flash: OpenAI’s Head of Products and Platforms Thibault Sottiaux announced Day 4 of the 28-day product sprint. GPT-6.1 Sol Ultrafast is now rolling out to API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work. According to the official announcement, the model has capabilities close to GPT-6 Astra, with generation speed in Codex reaching up to 8 times that of the standard Sol mode, and up to 6 times faster in the API. The Ultrafast API is priced at $12 per million input tokens and $60 per million output tokens, 6 times the standard tier rates. The API is open to all developers, though subject to rate limits. Codex and ChatGPT Work are restricted to Pro users paying $500 monthly, as well as eligible enterprise and educational users. On the same day, OpenAI also upgraded Codex’s mid-task correction feature. On the ChatGPT desktop app, when Agents are executing tasks, users can add additional requests or adjust directions, allowing the model to adapt faster and reduce instances of working along incorrect paths.
