New proposal on PancakeSwap governance forum: LP revenue share proposed to rise to 88%, CAKE token emissions to be cut by around 69%

PancakeSwap’s team The Kitchen recently released the "The Flip" proposal on the governance forum, proposing to raise liquidity provider (LP) fee splits for v3 and Infinity across all 11 supported chains to 88%, with the protocol retaining 12% for the Treasury; v2 remains unchanged due to hard-coded fees. The proposal states that based on 2025 trading volume, LPs could earn an additional ~$62 million in fees. Higher splits may attract more liquidity, reducing transaction price impact. Trader fee tiers will stay unchanged; existing Infinity pools will see lower total swap fees due to reduced protocol fees. For CAKE, post-veCAKE emissions are proposed to be cut by ~69% from 22,500 tokens daily to 7,000 daily, with the remaining 7,000 tokens allocated to the ecosystem growth fund Pantry. The Kitchen noted that CAKE’s supply has decreased by 11.5% since Tokenomics 3.0 was passed, with v2 alone sustaining net deflation, and the protocol is on track to meet its 2030 20% supply reduction target ahead of schedule. If approved, implementation will start in November 2026, expected to wrap up by the end of January 2027, rolled out gradually per chain. The final plan will be submitted for a Snapshot vote after incorporating community feedback.

Anthropic, which was labeled a national security risk for upholding Claude's security red lines, has applied for a retrial after losing a 2-1 ruling.

Beating AI News Flash: The legal battle between Anthropic and the Pentagon is ongoing. On October 13, Anthropic requested the full Washington Federal Appeals Court to rehear the blacklist case. On September 25, a three-judge panel ruled 2-1 in favor of the Pentagon, keeping Anthropic on the list of high-risk entities in the national security supply chain. Anthropic claims the ban has cost it billions of dollars in business. The two sides were originally partners. In July 2025, Anthropic had just secured a $200 million contract with the Pentagon, which later fell apart over usage restrictions for its Claude AI model. Anthropic has stuck to two non-negotiable red lines: no use of its AI for mass surveillance of Americans, and no autonomous AI decision-making for lethal attacks. The military, meanwhile, demanded that Claude be allowed for all lawful military purposes. In March this year, the Pentagon blacklisted Anthropic, banning further use of its technology in defense projects. The core controversy: Why would setting safety restrictions on an AI constitute a national security risk? The Pentagon argues that Claude has in the past refused to carry out government tasks due to its built-in restrictions, and a sudden inability to follow orders during wartime could disrupt military operations. Two judges on the panel accepted this reasoning. Anthropic counters that the relevant laws, originally designed to guard against malicious disruptions to supply chains, have now been stretched to cover normal model safety limits set by companies.

Kraken plans to acquire EU-regulated Saldo Bank.

According to a Financial Times report, Payward, the parent company of crypto exchange Kraken, plans to soon acquire EU-regulated Saldo Bank, with the transaction expected to close in 2027. The acquisition aims to secure a full banking license as part of its decade-long global license expansion plan. This will make Kraken the first major crypto trading platform to hold full banking status, enabling deeper integration with traditional finance (deposits, payments, custody) under the MiCA framework and surpassing its existing licenses in Ireland and Cyprus. The move is also linked to the company’s broader regulatory expansion ahead of a potential U.S. IPO. Saldo Bank is a Finnish fintech bank headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, founded in 2006 and a subsidiary of Finland’s Saldo Finance. Its core asset is a specialized banking license issued by the European Central Bank in October 2021, overseen by the Bank of Lithuania, allowing it to offer deposit, lending and payment services across the EU. Operationally, Saldo Bank focuses on automated lending solutions, providing loans to consumers and SMEs via its proprietary credit scoring system, alongside term deposits and credit card services. It currently operates in three markets: Lithuania, Finland and Sweden.

JPMorgan Chase has blocked external AI tools from processing transfers on behalf of its clients, and has launched a pilot program for its in-house AI wealth management tool.

Beating AI News Flash: JPMorgan Chase, the largest U.S. bank, has begun restricting external AI Agents from operating customer accounts. On October 13, CEO Jamie Dimon said the bank will not allow third-party Agents such as Meta Muse and Instinct to access its systems. Customers can still authorize AI tools to read account balances via approved channels like Plaid, but they cannot surrender online banking passwords for Agents to log in on their behalf, nor let Agents directly initiate transfers or pay bills. Dimon warned that if Agents act without authorization, the granting user may be held liable. Chase’s standard savings accounts offer an annual percentage yield (APY) of just 0.01%, while some high-yield savings accounts in the market exceed 4%. For a $10,000 deposit, annual interest would be only $1 at JPMorgan, compared to over $400 with top alternatives. In the past, many people found comparing rates, opening accounts, and transferring funds too cumbersome, so they preferred keeping their money with their existing bank. Now, personal Agents can handle these tasks for users. If a large number of depositors start using AI to automatically seek out high-yield accounts, the low-cost deposits that traditional banks rely on for profits could be impacted. JPMorgan is also developing its own AI wealth management tool, Smart Cash. The product recently launched a small-scale pilot program, aimed at predicting customer cash flow and automatically allocating funds to boost returns. Dimon emphasized that the bank does not oppose Agents, but customers must understand the potential liability transfer when they authorize external tools.

Grok Bot engineering lead calls for deleting the vast majority of code comments: AI will turn temporary patches into permanent legacy rules.

Beating AI Express News reports: Lauren Tan, engineering lead of Grok Bot, is calling for the removal of the vast majority of comments in codebases. She argues that coding agents tend to mimic existing code; a comment explaining a temporary fix could be repeatedly copied by subsequent agents as the correct approach, eventually leading to outdated patches and workarounds spreading across the entire project. Tan previously revealed in an interview that Dune, the development framework used by Grok Bot, has banned code comments. She estimates that 99% of AI-generated comments she has encountered explain irrelevant historical context. For instance, an engineer might only request that a specific approach not be used in a pull request (PR), but the agent will write that line into a comment, leaving it for subsequent agents to treat as a permanent rule. To address this, Tan recommends using the `/no-comments` skill from her open-source toolkit pstack. This tool invokes a dedicated agent to review comments, identify outdated explanations and temporary workarounds, and resolve root issues through refactoring. For example, architectural requirements originally written in comments can be converted into automatically enforced lint rules, or type systems can be used to directly block incorrect implementations.
