Physical Intelligence opens its robot model API: Picking strawberries, assembling servers, new actions can be trained in just 4 days.

Beating AI News Flash: U.S.-based robotics AI firm Physical Intelligence (Pi) has launched the beta version of its Pi API, opening access to its foundational robotics model to more enterprises. Developers only need to upload robot operation data to fine-tune the model on Pi’s cloud computing power, then control their own robots via the API. There’s no need to train models from scratch or build complex training and inference infrastructure independently. Pi showcased real-world use cases from multiple partners, including AgRobotics’ strawberry-picking robots, autonomous loaders for self-driving trucks, and robots for food processing and server assembly. Among these, startup Almond used the Pi API to get its dual-arm robot to learn polishing the parts required for its own assembly after just 4 days of iterative training and testing. Pi had previously open-sourced robotics models such as π0 and π0.5, but developers still had to deploy and train them on their own. This time, the company has further packaged model fine-tuning, computing power, and inference services into an API, aiming to become a shared intelligent foundation for various robots. However, test access is still by application only, and pricing has not been announced yet.

U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) says nine large banks engage in 'de-banking' practices.

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) said nine major banks have implemented policies of "denial, de-banking, and discrimination" against certain clients and businesses. The findings stem from a preliminary probe launched after former President Trump called for curbing such practices. The OCC released a final report on the same day, covering the nine largest national banks under its supervision by asset size: JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, U.S. Bancorp, Capital One, PNC, TD Bank, and BMO. Between 2020 and September 2025, all these banks had policies that could restrict access to financial services based on political or religious beliefs, or legal commercial activities, the OCC stated. The report also noted that the banks’ broad reputational risk rules lack clear, objective risk criteria, and impose access restrictions on sectors including oil and gas, coal, firearms and ammunition, detention facilities, tobacco and e-cigarettes, and digital assets. OCC Comptroller Jonathan V. Gould said the agency will evaluate further adjustments to its regulatory and examination framework; no penalties such as fines have been disclosed so far.
