Yushu Token climbs as funding rate quickly turns negative, with the largest long position holders still facing losses of over $1 million.

According to TradingBeats monitoring, the perpetual contract for Unitree (UNITREE) on Hyperliquid is priced at $69.796, up roughly 10.94% in the past 24 hours, with a trading volume of around $12.83 million and an open interest nominal value of approximately $18.5 million over the same period. On the news front, the 2026 Physical AI and World Model Conference will be held in Nanjing from October 19 to 22, with plans to release related technical achievements and hold project signings, bringing a new event-driven focus to the embodied intelligence sector. Earlier, Unitree founder Wang Xingxing stated at the Industrial Expo on October 12 that embodied intelligence technology could make significant progress in the next one to two years, though large-scale deployment of robots in factories still requires improvements in generalization ability and operational efficiency. Amid the price rebound, the funding rate has quickly turned negative. UNITREE’s actual settlement rates at 10:00 and 11:00 today were about -0.0850% and -0.1249% respectively, with shorts paying longs in both rounds, totaling -0.2099% for the two sessions; the cumulative rate over the past 24 hours is around -0.1883%, and the current estimated hourly funding rate remains at -0.0744%. Meanwhile, UNITREE’s mark price is approximately 1.19% lower than the oracle price, meaning the contract is still in a discount state. Unitree’s largest long holder (0x6910) currently holds about 89,500 UNITREE long positions, valued at roughly $6.289 million with an average entry price of $89.46, resulting in an unrealized loss of around $1.7187 million. The position’s price is still about 22% below the average entry price and has not yet returned to the cost line.

DeepSeek's new model, coupled with AI financing concerns, has led to continuous declines in Asian chip stocks.

According to Bloomberg, Asian semiconductor stocks extended their decline on Monday, with the Bloomberg Asia Chip Index plunging over 2% to its lowest level since July. TSMC, SK Hynix, and Japan’s Advantest were the primary drags on the index. Market anxiety stems from two key concerns: First, lingering financing pressures in the U.S. AI infrastructure sector, with doubts over CoreWeave’s funding viability and cooling IPO expectations for Anthropic and Nscale. Second, Chinese AI firm DeepSeek rolled out a new model update over the weekend, claiming faster performance and lower resource consumption—sparking fears that reduced storage needs for AI models could dampen chip demand. Last week, South Korea’s Kospi notched its worst weekly performance since October 2008. On Monday, the index fell as much as 3% before paring losses; Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 2.3% at its low, while Taiwan’s Weighted Index slipped 2%. Kang DaeKwun, CEO of Life Asset Management, said current market uncertainty is too elevated to time a bottom for South Korea’s stock market, with U.S. corporate AI project financing a major risk. He emphasized that South Korean chipmakers’ earnings remain heavily reliant on sustained U.S. investment in AI infrastructure. This week’s earnings reports from tech giants like Meta and Tesla will be a critical gauge of AI capital expenditure trends.

BlackRock's tokenized money market fund BUIDL has amassed $2.3 billion in assets under management and plans to expand its collateral use cases.

According to Bloomberg, BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, is exploring expanding the use cases of tokenized assets from the crypto market to traditional finance, enabling them to serve not only as collateral but also for payments. BlackRock is shifting its focus from issuing stocks, bonds and money market funds on blockchain networks to improving the transfer methods and collateral utility of these assets. Through tokenization, investors can directly transfer their holdings to other investors or use them as transaction collateral without first redeeming them for cash. BlackRock has also been continuously expanding its tokenized product lineup. Its tokenized money market fund BUIDL, launched in 2024, has grown to manage around $2.3 billion in assets. Since then, the firm has rolled out related products in the U.S. and Europe, and in September this year, it received approval to launch a Hong Kong dollar-denominated digital liquidity fund. However, the fact that tokenized assets can be transferred on blockchain networks around the clock does not mean they can be redeemed for cash at any time. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has noted that fragmentation across different platforms and legal uncertainties are major factors hindering the development of tokenized assets. The International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) also stated that issues such as custody arrangements, collateral rules and cross-border legal recognition still need to be resolved. Nikhil Sharma, director of BlackRock’s Digital Assets Team, said early investors in tokenized funds were primarily crypto market participants who sought to earn returns while holding stablecoins. He added that the key is to establish bridging mechanisms that allow traditional financial institutions to use tokenized products without building separate systems of their own, and he expects the application scope of such products to expand further over time.
