Exa 3.0’s search token consumption has decreased by 47%, matching Perplexity in independent evaluations.

Beating AI News Flash: AI search company Exa has launched Exa 3.0, a version built primarily to provide web search capabilities for AI Agents. Exa claims the new tool ranked first in all 8 evaluations including deep research, code retrieval, financial and corporate investigations, outperforming tested peers Perplexity, Brave, and Parallel. Third-party evaluator Artificial Analysis, using the same models and Agent frameworks, found Exa Auto achieved an overall score of 80, tying for first place with Perplexity Search. However, Exa’s average task completion time stands at 43.7 seconds, compared to Perplexity’s 25.5 seconds. The lower-priced Exa Lite scored 79, with a task time shortened to 29 seconds. The upgrade’s core focus is reducing the cost for AI to process search results. The new Dynamic Highlights feature no longer extracts content page-by-page; instead, it synthesizes all search results, allocates more tokens to high-value snippets, and removes duplicate information. Exa says this cuts token consumption by 95% compared to reading full web pages. Artificial Analysis measured that, versus the old summary mode, the Agent’s total tokens per task dropped from 299,000 to 157,000 (a 47% reduction), with total costs falling by 21%. The technology was available in preview as early as August and is now officially launched. Exa also trained a larger Embedding model and expanded its search index, which now covers 1.27 billion e-commerce product listings, over 211 million merchants, plus real-time data including flights, weather, and sports events. The newly launched Lite tier costs $4 per 1,000 searches, while Auto is $7 per 1,000 searches, both available via API.

JPMorgan Chase CEO: The U.S. economy remains in "good times," but the firm is prepared for extreme scenarios including a 40% decline in the stock market.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon told The Wall Street Journal in an exclusive interview that the current U.S. economy is robust, marked by strong corporate profit growth, low unemployment, and moderate overall leverage among businesses and consumers. He called the current period "a good time." However, Dimon also pointed to several potential risks accumulating beneath the surface: five years of "sticky" inflation, large fiscal deficits, and geopolitical uncertainties such as overseas wars. Dimon stressed that predicting the exact timing and triggers of an economic downturn is extremely difficult, as recessions typically stem from a confluence of factors that cannot be accurately forecasted at present. On banks' response strategies, Dimon said JPMorgan conducts extremely in-depth analysis of all risk types to ensure the bank can withstand shocks—whether interest rates rise or fall, inflation persists, or stagflation sets in—and continue serving clients during challenging periods. He clarified that the bank has prepared for extreme scenarios including a 40% stock market drop and a two to threefold widening of bond credit spreads, rather than guessing when such scenarios will materialize. Dimon concluded that an economic downturn will eventually arrive, but the specific combination of events that will trigger it "no one can predict today." The bank’s core principle is to be fully prepared to support businesses and communities across all economic environments, rather than making precise timing forecasts.

Market forecasts project the company’s Q3 revenue to range from $27.9 billion to $28.1 billion, with adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.44 to $0.45, down from $0.50 in the year-ago period. A core focus of this report will be whether the automotive gross margin can rebound from 16.3% in Q2 to around 17%; expansion of the Robotaxi fleet, performance of FSD subscription services, and Optimus’ production timeline will also shape market assessments of Tesla’s long-term growth prospects.
