Beating AI News Insight: AI hardware company Flowtica has completed a new round of financing worth tens of millions of yuan, led by Signalfire Capital, with existing investors including Source Code Capital, 5Y Capital and Clearwater Fund participating. Meanwhile, the AI e-ink screen Verso unveiled by the company at this year’s September IFA exhibition has opened for pre-orders with deposits, and the first batch of products is scheduled to be delivered in early December. Verso is a 6.5mm thick magnetic e-ink screen that can be attached to the back of a smartphone. According to official introduction, users can press a button to start recording during meetings, with real-time transcription and key point extraction—before the meeting ends, to-do items will be displayed on the screen. Users can also press a button to mark important speeches or directly ask the AI, such as retrieving past discussions with clients or generating post-meeting follow-up email drafts. Unlike AI recording cards like PLAUD Note Pro, Verso’s core difference lies not only in recording summaries, but in placing meeting minutes, schedules and to-dos directly on the hardware screen, eliminating the need to repeatedly open a mobile app. It also pulls up past communication records before meetings to remind users of unresolved matters. However, Flowtica has abandoned the always-on listening design; users must manually start recording, and the recording indicator light cannot be turned off. The pre-order price of Verso in the US is $199, with a regular price of $299. Pre-orders require a $10 deposit, and the final payment is due from November 17. The device comes with a 3-month unlimited AI subscription, and ongoing access to unlimited services requires additional payment.
