As the midterm elections draw near, Donald Trump’s approval rating has halted its decline and rebounded, while the Democratic Party still holds the lead.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Monday shows Trump’s public approval rating has risen to 32%, up 1 percentage point from last week. In the generic congressional ballot survey, 47% of registered voters said they would vote for the Democratic Party, 36% for the Republican Party, and another 11% were undecided. The gap between the two parties stands at 11 percentage points, narrowing by 1 point from the previous round of the same poll conducted through October 19. As a result, the Republican Party remains in a tight race for control of Congress: if it loses its majority in either the House of Representatives or the Senate, Trump will face greater obstacles advancing his policy agenda in the final two years of a potential second presidential term. National generic congressional ballot polls reflect voters’ overall leanings on congressional control, but do not directly reflect the specific dynamics of races in individual states and districts. Political analysts generally believe the Democratic Party has a chance to win control of the House, but faces a bigger challenge to take the Senate; the Republican Party still holds structural advantages in some congressional districts.

Wintermute: This week, the key focus will be on FOMC's wording, with Bitcoin's support level standing at $76,000.

Wintermute released its weekly market report yesterday, stating that BTC fell 2.43% last week to around $80,500, marking its third consecutive weekly decline and retesting the $80,000 threshold. U.S. spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $636 million on Thursday, the largest single-day outflow since June. Wintermute noted that BTC is currently correlated with the performance of AI-related stocks, and the market’s reaction to Wednesday’s FOMC meeting and subsequent inflation data is critical: if the FOMC adopts a hawkish tone or inflation comes in higher than expected, it could trigger a sell-off of assets including BTC. The firm added that it is not bearish on the market outlook, but remains cautious until the FOMC meeting concludes and BTC rebounds back above $82,500, with the key support level at $76,000.

Balancer: Over $500,000 in unclaimed assets discovered before shutdown, relevant institutions notified to claim them

Decentralized exchange protocol Balancer announced that during an inventory of DAO assets, it unexpectedly discovered over $500,000 in assets and unclaimed rewards left in the protocol by external users and institutions, including entities such as Ethena and Gauntlet. Some liquidity assets on Balancer v3 are recorded internally via the Vault, so they cannot be properly displayed on block explorers or asset management tools like DeBank; additionally, some users have withdrawn their v2 liquidity but still hold unclaimed rewards. Balancer noted that it has notified relevant asset owners, and some institutions have already begun withdrawing funds. Earlier, the Balancer community approved a proposal to gradually wind down protocol operations, with some liquidity pools switching to withdrawal-only mode on October 30.
