Microsoft offers voluntary separation to 60,000 employees, including Copilot-related roles, while excluding some data center positions.

Beating AI News Flash: Microsoft announced it is offering voluntary severance to around 60,000 employees across parts of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and India, accounting for 27% of its total global workforce. The affected teams include Xbox, Windows, finance, human resources, as well as Copilot and AI experience groups, while some data center roles, sales, and marketing departments are excluded. There are no age or tenure thresholds for applications, with some vice president-level staff also eligible. Compensation follows standard severance packages, and employees must decide by early December to leave by the end of the year. This marks Microsoft’s second voluntary separation program this year. In spring, it offered early retirement to around 8,750 employees meeting age and tenure criteria, with roughly 30% accepting. Microsoft expects a significantly lower acceptance rate for this round, though it did not disclose a target number of departures. Between fiscal 2022 and 2026, Microsoft’s revenue grew about 67% from $198.3 billion to $331.8 billion, while its full-time headcount only increased slightly from 221,000 to 223,000. Meanwhile, Microsoft projects its 2026 calendar year capital expenditure will reach around $175 billion. Continued heavy investment in AI infrastructure has led even AI product teams to be included in the workforce reduction efforts.

DotSwap V1 suffered an exploit, losing approximately 8.5 BTC and around $685,000 in funds.

On Nexus announced in a post that on October 25, its legacy trading platform DotSwap V1 was hacked. Attackers exploited the server-side signature mechanism left over from V1, stealing approximately 8.5 BTC (valued at around $685,000) from V1 liquidity pools and user accounts within about four hours. Since V1 used custodial multi-signature management for liquidity pools, the loss involved BTC deposited by liquidity providers into the V1 pools, affecting all V1 deposits; transaction users' self-custody wallets were not impacted. The attack was launched via automated scripts, with attackers probing all interfaces and gradually siphoning funds from 99 Runes tokens. On Nexus noted that the incident aligns with the recent trend of AI agent-driven attacks. Currently, DotSwap V1 has been taken offline. The team is tracking the stolen funds, collaborating with exchanges and on-chain analytics partners, and will release a full incident review and user handling plan later. The team also stated that it is working to restore Nexus-related services.

Bloomberg: Anthropic’s IPO could generate over A$1 billion in paper gains for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

According to Bloomberg, Australia's Commonwealth Bank (CBA) may profit from Anthropic's initial public offering (IPO). The bank participated in Anthropic's Series E funding round in March 2025, and its stake was valued at 153 million Australian dollars (approximately 107.5 million U.S. dollars) as of June 30, 2025. By the end of June 2026, as Anthropic's valuation surged to 965 billion U.S. dollars, CBA's stake had risen to 1.53 billion Australian dollars, a roughly tenfold increase from the earlier valuation. However, this valuation gain is a paper profit, and whether it can ultimately be realized through the IPO depends on the listing process and relevant transaction arrangements.

Anti-Pump.fun token LAUNCH records $6.8 million in 24-hour trading volume.

According to GMGN market data, the anti-Pump.fun narrative token LAUNCH has a 24-hour trading volume of $6.8 million, with a current market cap of $1.53 million. LAUNCH is an independent project token issued on StonkFun, whose core narrative is to build a fairer launchpad than Pump.fun. The project eliminates developers' bundling advantage in Block 0 creation by deploying tokens via a unified main wallet, curbs PvP behavior by restricting duplicate tickers and copycat projects, and allocates creator fees to automatic token buybacks and burns—ensuring trading activity flows directly back to the token and its holders, rather than being siphoned off by developers.
