Google is conducting internal testing of an MPC encrypted custody security system, with multiple financial institutions and its parent company Alphabet leveraging this technology to protect digital assets.

Google will launch its Google Multi-Party Compute (MPC) security service at the inaugural digital assets workshop in New York on Wednesday, designed to help banks and other financial institutions custody and transfer cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets. The product is currently in private preview, with multiple financial institutions testing it; parent company Alphabet has used the service to secure its own digital assets on Ethereum and Solana, and a commercial launch is scheduled for early 2027, with pricing details not yet disclosed. The system splits private keys into multiple shards stored across separate systems, requires checks against the institution’s preset rules before transaction signing, and supports ECDSA and Ed25519 algorithms.
