US media: Trump is considering taking military action against Iran after the midterm elections

According to U.S. financial media outlet Semafor, U.S. President Donald Trump appears willing to give diplomatic efforts with Iran another chance, but is also seriously considering launching further military strikes after the election. A U.S. government official revealed that the Trump administration is currently negotiating a temporary peace agreement, though the deal faces numerous hurdles before any progress can be achieved. Trump confirmed that Vice President JD Vance had sent a letter to Iran to try to restart peace talks, but he downplayed the move, suggesting it was primarily intended to address humanitarian needs. The official stated that if diplomatic efforts fail, the U.S. is prepared to resume military operations shortly after the midterm elections, adding: "We just need the president's order." Many within the government are skeptical about resuming military actions against Iran. The official noted that Trump is "the most open" to escalating military operations, but even so, he himself has reservations.

A relic of the times! Devv announces shutdown: Having once served over a million developers, AI search has become a standard feature of general-purpose assistants.

Beating AI Express: Developer AI search product Devv announces shutdown. Founder Zhang Jiayuan stated the team will shift all focus to AI Agent collaboration platform Multica. Over the past three years, Devv has served millions of developers worldwide. Launched in October 2023, Devv entered the market at a time when large language models (LLMs) still struggled to search for the latest programming resources, forcing developers to toggle between search engines and ChatGPT. Devv built a specialized search index for programmers, integrating technical documents and GitHub code to deliver answers directly via AI. Within four weeks of launch, its weekly active users reached 25,000. Later, it rolled out paid subscriptions, with first-month revenue exceeding $28,000. But in just three years, AI search is no longer a novelty. ChatGPT and Claude can now browse the web for information, and coding agents like Claude Code and Codex go a step further: they can independently search for resources, write code, run tests, and complete tasks directly for developers. Devv’s once-proud differentiator has gradually become a core capability of general-purpose AI tools. In fact, Zhang Jiayuan revealed as early as May this year that Devv would be discontinued. The team also previously tried an AI coding product called DevCode, but ultimately abandoned it. Now, they are betting on Multica. This time, instead of building search tools or coding agents themselves, the team lets multiple agents collaborate like team members: users assign tasks, agents execute, update progress, proactively flag issues, and submit results for review. From “helping programmers find answers” to “letting AI get the job done itself”, Devv’s shutdown perfectly encapsulates the evolution of developer tools over these three years.

As the U.S. midterm elections enter the final sprint, markets are already re-pricing in anticipation of policies tied to the 2028 U.S. presidential election.

The U.S. midterm elections are entering their final stretch, with investors assessing the far-reaching impacts of a potential shift in control of Congress on financial markets, which could trigger an early repricing of policies ahead of the 2028 presidential election. If the Democrats hold both chambers of Congress, domestic legislation for the remaining two years of Trump’s second term is likely to face heightened gridlock. Key areas of partisan confrontation will include fiscal budgets, the government debt ceiling, and regulatory disputes over AI data center construction. Chris Grisanti, chief market strategist at MAI Capital Management, believes the Republicans still have a strong chance of retaining the Senate. Under this scenario, the stock market could see a brief relief rally, but the election’s impact is not expected to last long. Rami Sarafa, CEO of Cordoba Advisory Partners, argues that if the Democrats expand their influence in Congress, healthcare policies may face adjustments, and the expansion of AI data centers could encounter more resistance. However, given the long construction cycles of related projects, the AI investment boom will not be abruptly halted by the election results. Compared with short-term legislative gridlock, the 2028 presidential election may bring more widespread changes in policy expectations. JPMorgan’s Geopolitical Research Center lists three key post-midterm election themes to watch: domestic policy gridlock, Trump’s pursuit of leaving a political legacy, and the launch of the 2028 presidential campaign. Its analysis covers topics including Iran and the Middle East, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Latin America, and NATO. JPMorgan analysts note that the midterm elections will kick off discussions about the direction of U.S. policy in 2028 and beyond.
