According to Bloomberg, prediction market platform Polymarket is probing a series of well-timed, highly profitable trades linked to this week’s Israeli election. Bloomberg’s analysis shows that shortly before voting concluded on Tuesday, hundreds of new accounts placed concentrated bets on Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party outperforming their rivals. After some exit polls indicated Netanyahu’s bloc secured more seats than initial reports, these trades turned profitable rapidly, with some accounts having already cashed out over $100,000. This is the latest case of insider trading concerns raised by prediction markets. Prior to this, Polymarket has faced extensive regulatory and public scrutiny for its accurate predictions on events including sports, U.S. elections, and geopolitical matters.

The Optimism Foundation has submitted a proposal in its governance forum, seeking authorization to refund sequencer fees generated from activities brought by key market expansion partners on OP Mainnet. Refunds will be paid in ETH fee revenue, not OP tokens. The foundation noted that this measure delivers performance incentives without increasing circulating OP tokens, and the buyback experiment will be calculated based on net income after deducting such refunds. The proposal stipulates that refunds must meet activity milestones, have a fixed term, and be used selectively only when the overall terms are favorable to Optimism. The foundation plans to disclose the proportion of total refunds to sequencer and priority fee revenue within a fixed percentage range in its annual collective budget report.

Singapore’s police announced that since September 10, they have received at least two cases where victims purchased Ledger hardware wallets from some local retail outlets, suffering total losses of around SGD 3.5 million. Preliminary investigations show that some Ledger devices sold via local retailers contain malicious hardware components capable of stealing mnemonic phrases or private keys, enabling unauthorized transfer of crypto assets without users’ knowledge. The police are in contact with Paris-based Ledger and reviewing the cases. The specific retail outlets involved and how the malicious components entered the supply chain have not been disclosed. Singapore’s police advised users to follow official security guidelines for hardware wallets, avoid inputting mnemonic phrases or conducting transactions on suspected tampered devices. If users suspect their mnemonic phrases or private keys have been compromised, they should transfer remaining assets to a new wallet using an unaffected device, regenerate a new mnemonic phrase, and never disclose private keys or mnemonic phrases to anyone.

Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) announced a strategic investment in Asia-Pacific digital market infrastructure operator Marketnode, aiming to expand institutional investors’ access to tokenized real-world financial assets on the Stellar network. Backed by entities including Euroclear, HSBC, Singapore Exchange Group and Temasek, Marketnode covers the issuance, distribution and servicing of funds, credit and structured products, connecting asset managers, issuers, distributors and qualified investors.

Cysic has announced that its cross-chain bridge has fully recovered following the security incident, allowing users to resume bridging CYS between the Cysic mainnet and other supported chains. A total of 7,200,002 CYS tokens have been permanently burned on BNB Smart Chain. On October 17, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the cross-chain bridge’s message processing to mint 10 million CYS tokens without authorization. The attacker then sold approximately 7.2 million tokens and transferred around $727,000 in proceeds to Ethereum. Cysic subsequently suspended bridging services and blacklisted the attacker’s address to freeze the remaining ~2.8 million CYS. The project confirmed that assets in the mainnet and user wallets were unharmed. The foundation previously announced plans to burn ~7.2 million CYS from reserves to offset the unauthorized minting and recalibrate token economics, and two burn transactions have now been completed.
