Republican figures are concerned about the preliminary results of the midterm elections, believing the Democratic Party is likely to achieve a landslide victory.

According to real-time data, the Republican Party has won the Florida Senate seat. Republican candidate Ashley Moody defeated Democratic opponent Angie Nixon in the election. Moody was previously appointed by the governor to serve the seat temporarily, and her victory enables her to formally complete the remaining term. Overall, the Democratic Party still holds a significant lead (45:34), has successfully flipped the North Carolina Senate seat, and currently needs a net gain of 3 seats (total +4) to regain the Senate majority.

SlowMist founder Yu Xian published an article noting that Binance’s disclosed hack process was an Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) attack, which should not be viewed merely as a result of engineer operational errors or excessive permissions. He explained that such attacks may span multiple stages including intelligence reconnaissance, social engineering, malicious code evasion, trust chain exploitation, lateral poisoning, cloud environment penetration, and risk control circumvention, and may also leverage zero-day vulnerabilities. Yu Xian reminded individuals and enterprises to use this incident to assess whether themselves, colleagues, and employees are vulnerable to similar poisoning attacks, and to enhance their defenses. The initial social engineering is just one component of the attack chain; seemingly simple tactics can trigger severe consequences in specific contexts.

According to the latest data, 96 House of Representatives seats in the current U.S. midterm elections have been called. The Democratic Party has won 67 seats (flipping 1 seat), while the Republican Party has secured only 29 seats.

Latest data shows roughly 10 Senate races have been called, with Democrats holding 43 seats and Republicans 32, marking a net gain of one seat for the Democratic Party. The gain comes from North Carolina, where former Democratic Governor Roy Cooper defeated his Republican opponent to flip the seat—previously held by Republicans—this is the first confirmed Senate flip of the current midterm elections. Many key swing states, including Ohio, Texas, South Carolina, and Michigan, are still counting votes. Democrats hold a narrow lead in early counts for some Republican-held seats, but those results have not yet been officially called. Democrats need a net gain of three more seats (a total of four gains) to retake the Senate majority. Since the vice president is a Republican, a 50-seat caucus would be enough to control the chamber. Results are still being updated.

Apple has submitted an annual filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), updating its insider trading policy and explicitly listing prediction market trading as a separate prohibited activity. The company requires employees to refrain from using confidential Apple information obtained through their work to place bets or conduct trades on prediction market platforms such as Polymarket; even if such conduct does not constitute insider trading or securities trading under applicable laws, it still violates the firm’s policy.
