Apple AI finally lands on China domestic iPhones: After more than two years of waiting, Siri now integrates Alibaba's Qianwen.

Flash News from Dongcha Beating AI: On the early morning of November 4, Apple rolled out the iOS 27.3 developer beta, bringing Apple Intelligence to Chinese mainland iPhones for the first time. The initial features include photo erase, AI writing, real-time translation, notification summaries, and intelligent emoji generation. Apple Intelligence launched overseas in 2024, with Chinese users waiting over two years for the test version. The mainland China version of Apple Intelligence integrates Alibaba’s Tongyi Qianwen, though core functions like photo erase and notification summaries still run on Apple’s self-developed models. For complex queries, Siri can call on Qianwen to provide answers. Users can also submit photos, PDFs, and PPTs to Qianwen for image recognition and document analysis; the writing tool leverages Qianwen to generate articles, copy, and even images. Qianwen requires user activation, and Apple will request consent each time before sending queries, photos, or documents to it. Alibaba stated that it will not use this data for model training. However, the newly launched features remain early-stage Apple Intelligence functions. The next-generation Siri unveiled at WWDC 2026, which can understand screen content and perform cross-app operations, is not yet available for mainland China. Initial supported devices include the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPhone 16 and later models, iPhone Air, and iPhone Duo. Both the device and Siri language must be set to Simplified Chinese or English. Apple plans to release the official version in December; iPad and Mac versions still await approval.

CZ: Large-scale theft exposes serious security lapses, and sharing details of the incident will help the entire industry learn lessons.

Binance co-founder CZ has published a post, stating that a hack of this scale signals a serious security lapse. No platform can guarantee absolute security, but that is no excuse. CZ added that the public statement simplifies an attack that appears to have spanned months or years, targeting hundreds of employees and systems, with only a small number of targets ultimately compromised. He believes sharing details will help the entire industry draw lessons. As a shareholder, he hopes Binance will transparently disclose issues, take responsibility, listen to criticism, and make substantive improvements.

Tencent has released the official version of Hy4, and its comprehensive performance ranks among the strongest open-source models.

Beating AI News Flash: Tencent Hunyuan releases the official version of Hy4. Compared to the August preview, the official Hy4 has expanded pre-training and post-training scales, enhanced capabilities in programming, long-horizon agents, financial analysis, and for the first time added visual understanding and computer operation functions. Multiple evaluations released by Tencent show that its overall performance has entered the first echelon of open-source models. Hy4 can now operate computers by integrating screen content, mouse/keyboard inputs, and command lines to complete cross-software tasks. To this end, Tencent built a sandbox with hundreds of software deployed, allowing the model to practice repeatedly and verify results. In game development, GameDev and GameLogic evaluations improved by 19.1% and 9.8% respectively compared to the preview version. Hy4 also made new progress in scientific research tasks. Tencent said that Hy4 completed 3D reconstruction of a mouse embryo with nearly 7 million cells in 1.5 hours without human intervention; it can also independently locate performance bottlenecks in model training systems, increasing training throughput in internal tests by 20.1%. The official version maintains the API pricing of the preview. Standard API calls on Tencent Cloud are offered a limited-time 50% discount until December 31, while Token Plan subscriptions enjoy points consumption at 25% of the original rate until November 18. The model is now available on platforms including Tencent Cloud and OpenRouter, with its weights planned to be open-sourced soon.
